# Capslane

> Capslane is a YouTube transcript API by Webba Creative Technologies. It retrieves native captions and can generate timestamped transcripts when captions are missing.

The API supports public YouTube videos. A request can return content immediately or accept an asynchronous generation job. Cache lookup happens before mode selection. Use the reference below for authentication, polling, output formats and quotas.
